Weddings may be "later at night" but that's an all-day, oftentimes all-week process where everyone will be busy af and your baby is ONE. Like, it's an important milestone but girl, coming from someone whose birthday is right on Thanksgiving, I have had to push my birthday celebration every single year. Doing it once because of a major life event in order to actually make sure people can attend the party is just the right thing to do. You have that party on the wedding day and see nobody from your fam there bc they're too busy with wedding stuff it's on you.

Ik it's not their responsibility, but I'm really thankful my parents wanted to be a huge part of my daughters life. She's their one and only grand child, and especially now that my dad is gone, my mom loves spending time with her and helping to raise her and being a light in my daughters life. I didn't get that with my grandparents like my brother did, and it sucked.

Last I heard she's 60 something years old lives alone with a couple cats and is knees deep in being a Jehovah's witness. She's also kinda broke so I guess it wasn't me that was going to be nothing like she said. Unfortunately my son's father was murdered 2 years ago so we are managing that but things are still as good as they could be given the circumstances.

The daughter is still underage. So unfortunately, the parents are still responsible for her in the sense of providing basic needs for the daughter. So while they shouldnt be responsible for the baby, they are definitely still responsible for her and should not be asking her to move out imo

My boyfriend only had brothers. One older, one younger. Their mom never really told them anything about women's problems and periods and such like that. At least not much. My boyfriend sometimes mentions that his mom going through menopause was a bit rough but that's as much as he knew. When I told him about periods, he told me I was the first girl to go in depth about it. He didn't look at me disgusted either. He understood it's just a natural thing that happens and he supports me if I ever need anything like painkillers, snacks, cuddle time, etc. There's no excuse for being immature about periods.

Unless you have a financial or scheduling commitment with another party (like a wedding venue, caterer, etc.) you can celebrate events on a different day. Even holidays. My birthday was the day before Mother's Day this year. We had a combined birthday/Mother's Day dinner several days later. The world didn't end because we were a few days late. I need more context from OP. Why did she not want to be around her step sister? Did OP's mother constantly pick the step sister over OP? Also how long has the wedding been planned for? Its been a full year so unless the venue has been booked for 2 years, the step sister chose the granddaughter's birthday. Which makes it a malicious act. I need more information.

Ok but a wedding does take a lot of planning and preparation especially if your part of the wedding party, and a birthday party is much more flexible so I can see why the people having to travel and get ready and all that are maybe asking you to move the party
